Local Sustainability Network - Bangor

Datblygu Bangor Development seeks to work with 500 households to develop energy saving measures, with a particular focus on insulation. Car sharing will be encouraged and a pool of low or no emission vehicles developed. They plan to reduce shopping journeys by establishing a daily delivery service, and where appropriate develop new businesses to install insulation or to harvest solar and wind energy.

Tyddewi Parcio Eco

Tyddewi Parcio Eco wants to reduce the use of cars within the city and promote sustainable tourism by using the facilities based around the main road city limits as park and eco-ride stations, where users will be offered alternative methods of transport, eduction on reduced and more efficient car use and personalised advice on journey planning.

Genffordd Community Energy Group will contract local farmers to grow suitable fuel to power a Combined Heat and Power plant. The project will seek to use hot water circulations to service heating needs and pre-dry materials to make combustion as efficient as possible.

Awel Aman Tawe - Abertawe/Swansea

Awel Aman Tawe is a social enterprise working for the regeneration of the South Wales mining valleys through the development of renewable energy, energy efficiency and environmental projects. It hopes to develop 20 wind turbines and other renewable projects in the year and to work with local partners to maximise energy efficiency support within schools.

Llanidloes Energy Solutions Ltd - LlanidloesNesta Top 21 Competitors Logo small

Llanidloes Energy Solutions will look for new ways to use the natural, renewable resources and waste by-products within the local area as well as increasing the energy efficiency of public buildings. The savings made in the cost of running public buildings will be re-invested in programmes to promote energy efficiency measures in private housing.
