Microgeneration Policy - Huddersfield

Kirkburton Parish Council wants to promote a microgeneration/energy conservation policy encouraging both the community at large and community organisations to use renewable energy wherever possible, including projects such as the installation of solar panels in the local village hall.

Carbon Partners - Sheffield

Development Education Centre’s project involves working closely with two South Yorkshire secondary schools and African partner schools to pilot a micro ‘contraction and convergence’ scheme based on school carbon footprints.

Carbon Watchers - Skipton

Carbon Watchers plans to reduce carbon dioxide emissions implemented through a ‘Carbon Watchers Club’ based on the Weight Watchers concept. Club members’ annual CO2 emissions will be aggregated and reviewed regularly against the target. Reductions will be achieved through energy savings followed by conversion to low carbon fuels and individual as well as community renewable energy projects.

Ash Tree Yard Creative Business Hub - Sheffield

Heeley Development Trust proposes to create an environmentally friendly local workspace, refurbished with reclaimed and sustainable materials.  Heating and hot water will be provided through solar thermal systems. Low carbon habits will be encouraged in tenants, including through cycling training, communal recycling facilities and advice on energy reduction.
